Squirrel (Baby)

No need to squirrel away tons of time to make this costume!

Materials

  • One gray baby outfit
  • Dark gray felt (3 sheets 9 x 12 inches each)
  • Light gray felt (3 sheets 9 x 12 inches each)
  • Stuffing (polyfil, felt scraps, tissue, or newspaper)
  • Safety pins
  • Hot glue gun and sticks
  • Scissors

Instructions

For the ears: Cut four matching squares from dark grey felt, and two smaller light grey felt squares. Round the top corners of all pieces with scissors. Glue the light grey pieces to two dark grey pieces, and stuff and glue the ears together. Safety pin the ears to the top of the hood.

For the tail: Cut two matching tail pieces from dark grey felt, making it almost like an “S” shape for a curled tail. Cut two lighter grey smaller “S” curls and glue to each dark grey piece. Line up the tail pieces and glue and stuff together with polyfil or whatever you have on hand, such as paper towels or felt scraps. Safety pin the bottom of the tail to the bottom edge of the hoodie, and the top of the tail to the upper back of the hoodie.
