Gold Medal Gymnast (Primary x Nugget®)

Materials

• One blue kids top
• One blue kids bottom
• White felt
• Blue felt
• Red ribbon
• Blue ribbon
• Metallic cardstock
• Double sided fabric tape
• Red, blue and green sharpies
• Bonus: use Nugget play furniture to build a kid-sized pommel horse

Tools

• Hot glue gun & sticks
• Scissors

Instructions

• Create the side stripes:
• Cut 2 pieces of blue ribbon that reach from the neck, down the arms to the cuff of the pullover and 2 pieces of ribbon that reach from the waist of the jogger to the ankle.
• Attach the ribbons to the outside of the arms and outside of the legs using double sided fabric tape.
• Create the chest emblem:
• Use a small bowl or large mug to trace a circle onto white felt and cut it out.
• Cut a slightly smaller circle from blue felt and another slightly smaller circle from white felt.
• Use sharpies to draw the American flag and a rainbow on the smallest white felt circle. 
• Hot glue the circles together.
• Attach to the left front of the pullover using double sided fabric tape.
• Create the medal:
• Cut two 3 inch by 11 inch stripes of metallic cardstock.
• Tape two short ends together to create a 22 inch by 3 inch long piece of card stock.
• Accordion fold the 22 inch piece of card stock, folding about every 1/4 inch.
• Fan out the accordion folded card stock and tape the two ends together to create the back of the medal.
• Cut two small circles from blue felt. 
• Hot glue one circle to the front of medal and one to the back.
• Cut a length of red ribbon and hot glue the two ends to the back of the medal.
