Materials

  • One blue kids outfit
  • Paper grocery bag
  • Light blue spray paint
  • Cardstock in multiple colors
  • Cardboard
  • 2 silver paper cups
  • 2 silver straws
  • Headband
  • Hot glue gun and sticks
  • Scissors

Instructions

For the robot body:

  • Spray paint a paper grocery bag light blue and let it dry. Cut and tape colorful card stock shapes for the gas gauge, electrical pulse, and inner gears onto the front of the bag. Cut an opening on the bottom and sides of the bag for the head and arms to fit the wearer.

For the key ring:

  • Cut out a winding key about 10” tall. Make a small incision on the back of the bag, and insert the winding key. Prop the key so it lays perpendicular to the back panel. Add a ring of hot glue to the tab in the interior and let cool completely before removing the support.

For the headpiece:

  • Trim the tops off two silver paper cups and glue a silver straw to each cup end to stick up like antennas. Cut four small circles all the same size and glue to the ends of the straws. Glue the paper cups to either side of a headband.
