A weekly roundup of heartful and helpful things from around the Internet.
Friends, welcome to another special edition of Using Our Words: a roundup of heartful and helpful things from around the internet. Today’s newsletter is guest-edited by our friends at The Conscious Kid, an education, research, and policy organization dedicated to equity and promoting healthy racial identity development in youth. It’s been a favorite resource of ours (and yours!) for raising empowered, conscious kids. Kids shine brighter because of the work The Conscious Kid does, and we are proud to support it.
Today’s content celebrates Women’s History Month, featuring groundbreaking women and girls, and information for countering traditional gender roles. We appreciate the opportunity to contribute!
Something to inspire: Japanese Skateboarder Sky Brown, the World’s Youngest Olympian.
Something to celebrate women: Tips to recognize women’s contributions (past and present) with kids.
Something to support gender equity: How to raise a feminist son.
Something to read: True stories of girls who changed the world (for every age): Think Big, Little One (Ages 0-3), Drum Dream Girl (Ages 4-7), Little Dreamers: Visionary Women Around the World (Ages 8-12).
If you have something you'd like to pass along, be it a resource, book, random product you recently discovered, or just a GIF that made you smile, we're all ears! We'd love to hear at blog@primary.com. Have a great weekend!
