What We Keep In Our DIY Craft Closet
We get a lot of questions about how we create our magical DIY costumes. Find out what's in our craft closet!
With Primary, there’s always a costume in your kid’s closet to build for Halloween! But we get a lot of questions about what we keep in our closet. Our crafting closet, that is. Almost all of our DIY costumes require zero craft skills, zero sewing machines, and can be made with simple, versatile, easy to use materials that are designed for reuse of your Primary basics, after Halloween and beyond!
Below you’ll find a list of our most-referenced craft supplies — we hope they’ll come in handy this October and all the crafty days to come!
FELT & FOAM
We love felt and foam because it can be easily cut into any shape, and temporarily or permanently attached to clothes without needing to finish the edges.
CRAFTING HARDWARE
We like tools that are easy to use and attachments that are totally temporary (and easy to undo if the first try doesn’t go right).
STUFFING
Great for fleshing out your little one’s DIY Dino-tail, or for external use to add some fluffy texture!
Shredded Newspaper
Tissues or Tissue Paper
ACCESSORIES
You know what they say, accessories are everything. Easy no-sew ways to add some pops of color to your costume.
