Instructions
Got an appetite for something more hearty than candy? Forget having a bun in the oven... this Halloween, the bun's on the kiddo's costume. You'll get right to the meat of the matter with our Primary DIY Hot Dog costume, using our Primary essentials . Add a dash of mustard, and your little one won't go hungry on Halloween night!
For the bun:
- Use about a 1/2-3/4 yard of tan felt. Cut two large rectangles wide enough to wrap around your child's body and tall enough to fit from the shoulders to the ankles with a few extra inches added on to the height and width. Cut the corners to be rounded, and with the felt together, measure and cut out the arm holes on both sheets of felt.
- If you sew: with the felt together, sew the top and side edges together. Turn inside out and topstitch the armhole openings together. Stuff the bun with polyfil and turn up the bottom edges inward, and sew the bottom closed.
- If you don't sew: use hot glue instead of sewing.
For toppings:
- Cut white squares of felt for onions, and green felt squares for relish.
- Cut squiggles of red and yellow felt for mustard and attach all felt toppings to the romper with double-sided fabric tape.
