Rufus (Naked Mole Rat from Kim Possible)

• One pink baby outfit
• Baby/child pink beanie
• White cardstock
• Doll/animal shank back black eyes 20mm OR black paint
• Pink fabric (to match outfit)
• 9x12 thick grey felt sheet
• Stuffing

Tools

• Grey marker
• Safety pins
• Scissors
• Embroidery floss-dark pink & black OR paint
• Sewing needle

For the cap:

• Cut out teeth from cardstock, fold top over, and use grey marker to outline the outer edge of teeth and draw a line down the center
• Fold bottom of beanie up at least 2 inches (this is where you will insert the teeth)
• Place beanie on child and mark where eyes should be placed. Because of the nature of the buttons, a little higher is better.
• NON-SEWING OPTION: For Steps 4-6, instead, paint the eyes, whiskers, nose, and eyebrows.
• Follow button instructions. Poke black portion through the hat, where you marked, and then put the rubber stopper on the other side to keep them from falling out.
• Take black embroidery floss and sew eyebrows over the eyes and whiskers.
• Use dark pink embroidery floss to sew a nose.
• Once the eyes, nose, eyebrows, and whiskers are sewn or paint has dried, insert teeth into the fold (Step 2).

For the bodysuit:

• Cut out claws and tail using template (2 tail pieces and 4 claws out of felt).
• Sew tail together on all sides leaving 2-3 inches open at base.
• Turn tail right side out, add stuffing, shape, and sew opening closed.
• Paint details onto claws.
• Attach claws with small safety pins to hands and feet of footie.
• Attach tail with large safety pins to back of onesie.
