Products you’ll need (2)

Materials

  • One red kids dress
  • One set of red kids tights
  • Bucket hat
  • 4 sheets of 9x12 green felt
  • Cardboard tissue roll 
  • 1 sheet of cream vinyl OR cream-colored felt (see Pro-Tips below)
  • Wax paper 
  • Double sided fabric tape (optional — see Pro-Tips below)

Tools

  • Hot glue gun
  • Hold puncher 
  • Scissors 
  • Iron 

Instructions

for strawberry stem:

  • Create leaves: Cut almond shaped pieces of green felt (9inch). Leave the edges jagged to resemble leaves
  • Glue leaves: Hot glue the leaves onto the hat overlapping each other so you can not see the hat
  • Cut cardboard: Cut the cardboard roll ( about 3 inches ) 
  • Glue cardboard to hat: Hot glue cardboard cylinder to top of hat
  • Cover cardboard with felt: Use remaining felt pieces to cover the cardboard to resemble a stem 

For strawberry:

  • Cut felt paper: Cut small triangles of green felt ( about 2 inches)
  • Hot glue felt to neckline: Use fabric tape or hot glue gun to apply to neckline or dress 
  • Hole punch vinyl: Use hole punch to make holes in vinyl (about 50) 
  • Arrange vinyl on dress: Arrange pieces of vinyl on dress as desired to resemble seeds
  • Lay wax paper and vinyl on dress: Lay wax paper over garment and vinyl pieces 
  • Use iron to adhere vinyl: Iron for 30 seconds to adhere vinyl to dress

Pro-Tips

  • To make the clothing easily reusable, use felt instead of vinyl to cut out large strawberry seeds, and use fabric tape to adhere the "seeds" to the dress.
